Witches & Wine is the Paris Downtown Association's annual Halloween-season event, listed on the official Paris, Texas events calendar for Saturday, October 17. The concept is simple and reliably fun: dress the part, wander the historic downtown district, and move between shops and stops that stay open late with wine, sips, and seasonal specials. The 2025 edition ran from 6:00 to 9:00 PM with the festivities centered on the downtown square and the Culbertson Fountain, and the same evening format is expected this year.

What to expect

The evening is built around downtown Paris's shopfronts, so expect boutiques and businesses open after hours, wine stops along the route, and plenty of people in costume. It is a low-key, walkable way to spend a fall evening, and it pairs naturally with the other mid-October happenings downtown, including Mannequin Night on the same square the same weekend. The Paris Downtown Association posts final details, including exact hours and participating stops, closer to the date.

Why it matters for the area

Events like Witches & Wine are what keep a small-town downtown alive after dark. They bring residents out, put foot traffic past local businesses, and give families and newcomers an easy way to feel part of the community. It is one more reason a move to Lamar County does not mean giving up a lively town center.

The drive from 3870 County Road 45080 to downtown Paris is about 20 minutes, an easy trip for a Saturday evening on the square. If you are house hunting in the area, an October evening like this is a great way to feel what living here is actually like.
