Jon Pardi at Choctaw Grand Theater

Jon Pardi made his name by pulling old-school country instrumentation back into the mainstream. Songs like "Dirt on My Boots", "Head Over Boots", and "Heartache Medication" pair Telecaster twang and fiddle with a modern pop-country engine, and his two ACM Awards and a string of number-one singles made him a headline name rather than a cult one. His live show leans hard into that honky-tonk energy, with a full band that keeps the dance floor in mind.

A Saturday night in Durant

The Choctaw Grand Theater is a comfortable showroom with reserved seating and the full resort attached, which makes the night easy to build a trip around: dinner at one of the on-site restaurants, the 8:00 PM show, and a straight shot home down US-271 afterward. For Paris-area country fans, it has become the default close venue for tours that otherwise skip this corner of Texas.

Why it matters for the area

A March country show an hour up the road is the kind of detail that changes the math on where to live. Rural Northeast Texas buyers get big-room country tours without the Dallas drive, and the balance of country quiet with an active events calendar nearby is exactly the balance most people are looking for when they shop acreage near Paris.
