Gypsy is the show people mean when they talk about the golden age of the Broadway musical. With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents, it tells the story of Mama Rose, the ultimate stage mother, pushing her daughters toward vaudeville fame while chasing her own dream through every dusty theater on the circuit. At its center is one of musical theatre's most demanding roles, and a score that includes "Everything's Coming Up Roses," "Let Me Entertain You," and the show-stopping "Rose's Turn."
A season-capper for PCT
Gypsy closes the 2026-2027 season for Paris Community Theatre, following Lend Me a Soprano, It's a Wonderful Life, and Murder on the Orient Express. It is a big, ensemble-driven show, and PCT's history with ambitious musicals makes it a natural fit. The production runs for ten days across two weekends at the Brown Centre on Clarksville Street, with evening performances and Sunday matinees, so there are plenty of chances to catch it.
Getting there from Arthur City
The Brown Centre sits in downtown Paris, about 20 minutes from 3870 County Road 45080. Tickets go through PCT's ticketing provider, and community theatre audiences in Paris turn out for musicals, so planning ahead for the weekend you want is worth it.
