Fever's Christmas Classics is the holiday edition of the Candlelight series, and it may be the most fitting show of the year for the format. The program leans on the carols and songs that define December: "O Holy Night," "Silent Night," "The First Noel," and other seasonal favorites, arranged for strings and performed at Wynne Chapel on the Austin College campus. The chapel's stained glass, the warm glow of hundreds of candles, and the acoustic intimacy of the arrangements make it a genuinely contemplative hour in the middle of a busy shopping month.

The performance runs Friday, December 18 at 6:30 PM, with the Candlelight tribute to Michael Jackson following in the same chapel at 8:45 PM. Tickets are sold through the Fever app and website, starting around $25, and holiday performances in this series tend to be among the first to sell out.

A holiday night out, an hour away

Between Paris's own holiday slate, the parade in Bonham, and this candlelit concert in Sherman, the December calendar around Northeast Texas is full without ever leaving the region. Sherman is roughly an hour from 3870 County Road 45080, an easy evening drive, and Wynne Chapel is an easy walk or short drive from the main Sherman square if you want to make an evening of it.

Why it matters for the area

Holiday music is everywhere in December, but most of it comes through amplified speakers. A candlelit string performance is the opposite of the mall soundtrack, a quiet, beautiful hour that families, couples, and anyone needing a pause in the season can share. For Northeast Texas, having that option within an hour is a genuine quality-of-life detail, the kind of thing that answers the question of what living here is really like.
